Ten Things To Pray For In The Year 2014: # 8 Live Exceptionally

When Jesus walked on Earth, during His earthly ministry, everything he did was radical. The Jewish religious leaders at the time were as bland and predictable as ketchup, but Jesus was as bold as the finest habanero salsa to hit town. He upset the status quo. He turned the world right side up. He broke down barriers, set the captives free, even forgave adulterers and killers. He lived an exceptional life. And He is calling you and I to live an exceptional life, too.

“I have come that you may have life, and that more abundantly.”

This came from a man who wore a homespun garment, walked dusty roads (rather than ride a donkey or in a chariot), and knew how to tell a great story. He loved people, but also found time to get away to a lonely place to pray. He lived outside the box. He lived like no other.

Are you ready to live like you have never lived before? Are you ready to actually be the person you were meant to be? Are you ready to live exceptionally?

Living a superior, unusually excellent life seems like a dream, but it can be a reality. But first, we must be desiring to live like God wants us to live. That requires a sacrifice, a surrender. It means waving the white flag and telling God, “I was bought with a price. I am not my own.” If that gets down in your spirit and you believe it, and in faith you live out that life, sensitive to every word from the lord God, then what will be impossible for you? You will not only be able to endure persecution and attacks, you will be able to rise above them and be blessed so much that you will be a blessing to everyone around you.

It is a new year, one like no other. Are you ready to surrender everything, including your will, to God? If you do, the Word of God states that you will live an abundant life.

  1. This is my spiritual goal for this year, and every year thereafter. I have been working toward the desire to rise above my personal desires and sins and focus on what God wants me to be and to do. It means living moment by moment. Until recently I have struggled with a sin that I received immediate punishment for each time I succumbed. But I believe that God has delivered me as one day the desire to sin suddenly left me and hasn’t returned. Praise God for his mercies to us.
