Fear

…the word that sums up the essence of what has spread across the globe- the opposite of faith, love, and hope. The one who speaks fear over the airwaves, over people, over nations, does not love, does not care, does not have your best interests. they cannot be trusted. they will not speak truth. they will not speak life. they will speak lies to perpetuate fear.

fear, despair, and hate hang like spiritual walls around those who isolate themselves because they have bought the lies of fear. there is no room for unselfish, untainted love. there is no room for hope because fear has erased all certainty. there is no room for faith because they have bought into the material while being blinded by the dark spiritual.

Perfect love casts out all fear.

In an imperfect world, there is only one source for perfect love. It is a spiritual love, a force that cannot be contained by the walls of fear.

and those who have dismissed fear, who have chosen to trust in that perfect Love, have God’s worldview. they have chosen, they have pledged allegiance, to a Kingdom that overcomes fear, just as the light overcomes darkness in any room. while the fearful spend their days resigned to a future that progressively deteriorates, those who have God’s worldview are at peace. no matter what dark forces wreak havoc, fear has a short lifespan in light of eternity.

Because if we are in Christ…

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

and what if the bridge is slick?

it is snowing again, nothing new about that…but after yesterday’s walk, i thought of this scene as i was traveling east on the trail. the surrounding rise stood clear of snow, but the bridge remained slick.

it is that way often in life- we are journeying forward, only to find a crossing so slick, we can’t imagine crossing it without getting hurt.

what is the slick crossing you have in front of you?

is it too great a crossing to trust an all powerful God?

i cannot trust what i see…there is too much at stake, too much in the spirit world i cannot see. i must trust the all-knowing, all-powerful God. The Presence is the only one who can  give me the wisdom to cross or not to cross. i know, i may be crossing it soon.

Goodbye fear, hello faith!

Fear is the opposite of Faith.

faith, as you might know, “is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” If you search the Word and find the meaning behind the Greek for this “hope,” you will learn it is a “knowing hope” that transcends what you see right now. There is a vast world, greater than what we see, beyond our senses. Faith has substance in that world. But we need to trust God with this undying hope, trust Him, learning how to follow His plan…whatever that may entail.

So… 

If you are Right with God…

      “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”

Hello Faith!

Fear and loathing in the USA

If I had a nickel for every time someone misunderstood me, I’d be wealthier than Bill Gates. The latest poll about Americans and their trust- or lack of it- is shining through big time in several places.

Still, I still find Americans who will stop and take the time to talk, people who will help their neighbors, people who will stop for a stranded motorist…still, mainly because they have not succumbed to that fear, loathing, and mistrust spreading throughout the land. 

I wrote my last post as a satire. If you misunderstood it, I suggest that you find out what satire is- if you do not know. It is a potent way of saying “There is something wrong here with this.”
